One To One Coaching
“Coaching in its truest sense is giving the responsibility to the learner to help them come up with their own answers.” – Vince Lombardi
One to one coaching will help you raise
your game, unravel a problem, execute a new task, master a new skill or
find direction, purpose and ultimately balance in your work and life.
Here’s some examples of challenges I’ve helped my clients overcome:
They’re stuck in a rut.
This happens to everyone, no matter how successful.
You might not have achieved any of your dreams. You might be outwardly extremely successful but reached an impasse.
The great news here is while it might not seem like this – with the right support it’s pretty simple to break out of a rut.
They want to change career.
This can be in both directions. Into a career in music or out of one.
Career change is one of the most unsettling prospects for anyone, especially if you’ve been doing what you’re doing now for a long time.
Aside from my clients, I have recently been through this transition myself. And I used the tools, techniques and ways of thinking I will give you to turn what was a frightening unknown into an exciting opportunity.
They don’t have enough time.
You have two options when you think you have too little time.
You can either try to find more time (which is finite). Or you can find ways of doing more in less time (which is infinite). The first of these is the traditional “time management” approach. But I use the second – “self management”.
There is always “enough” time to do what is important to you. I will help you with skills to do more of what counts in less time.
They feel fear or don’t feel confidence.
What’s frustrating about this subject is fear leads to more people giving up on their hopes, dreams and ambitions than any other challenge.
But what’s great about this subject is it’s pretty simple to nail – as long as you have the right mental skills.
They want to optimise their creative process.
I have a personal interest (in fact it’s something of an obsession) with the phenomenon of flow.
I’m sure you’ve experienced it, although you might call it the zone, inspiration, or maybe even the muse. When you are in flow you do your best work, you do it many times faster, you love doing it and you’re so immersed that you don’t notice the passage of time.
While I have not yet managed to get a client to the point of turning it on at will – I sincerely believe this is possible. And at the very least, the steps you’ll take in order to get there will result in huge increases in quality, productivity and enjoyment of your creative process.
If one to one coaching seems right for you, here’s some things to bear in mind…
I don’t work on the specifics of music or music production.
I am not a music teacher or instructor.
Although of course I’m not going to say “no” if you have a technical or musical question, I prefer to work on the areas that make more of a difference than the details of how to do this or do that in the studio.
Coaching is not counselling or any form of psychological therapy.
I am not trained a trained counsellor, psychologist, psychiatrist or any kind of therapist.
While some areas and approaches in coaching may seem like counselling – they are fundamentally different in one major respect. While counselling tends to be focused on the past, coaching is almost exclusively focused on the future.
I will work with you on what you are going to do rather than the reasons you are where you are. This might mean coaching is not right for you.
The results of coaching are not guaranteed.
All the results my clients have experienced are because they have taken action.
When you’re my client you’ll find it easier to take action, due to the added accountability and focus our coaching relationship brings. And the actions you take will have greater impact because the thinking you do in our coaching sessions will be of a higher and deeper quality than the thinking you have done before.
But while I will do everything in power to help you create results, in the end you are responsible. To get the most from the
process it is essential you take action.
How It Works
All our coaching sessions are via Zoom audio or video.
The exact number of sessions you’ll do is dependent on you and your situation (I don’t place a limit on it – you are investing in your results – not my time!) but from experience an ideal spacing is weekly.
Unlimited personal email support is included. You’ll also get complimentary access to every Make Music Your Life program & course (there’s currently 11) I’ve made over the last 5 years.
The reason for this complimentary access is I can easily and quickly point you to a piece of content which will help you move forward and we won’t waste time in the sessions having to explain something I’ve clearly laid out in a program.
Your investment is US$7500 a month on an ongoing basis, and your coaching ends when you want it to.
For more information about one to one sessions, please click here to contact me. I’ll be in touch, usually within 24 hours.
What People Are Saying…
“Mike Monday’s process has helped me enormously. I have two record labels, a heavy touring schedule, a wife and two children, and a music production career all running in tandem. There are times when it seems unmanageable and i get lost in a downward spiral that limits my effectiveness as a leader and my ability to be creative in the studio.
Whenever i have a session with Mike we talk it all out and a sense of calm comes over me. i get back to basics and work out all the things in my head that need to get worked out. His process is both calming and therapeutic.
I would also like to add that the additional fact that Mike is a music producer himself and a veteran DJ lends itself to an extra level of trust. I don’t think i would take advice or listen to someone in the same way who was from outside the music industry. In an nutshell I find Mike Monday’s process to be an extremely valuable way to organize and free my chaotic brain to do what it is supposed to be doing.”
– Claude VonStroke (Dirty Bird)
“I found the time with Mike to be extremely beneficial. His process opened me up to ideas that, even where obvious, I had overlooked or forgotten and I am looking forward to taking them with me to the studio. It was definitely worth it.” – Johnson Peterson (Yolanda Be Cool)
“In my 90 minutes with Mike, he managed to change the way I view certain situations in my life and make me realise how more I still want to achieve and how possible it all still is. My mind feels focused and I am enjoying my work a lot more than previously. The whole process is very relaxed, like meeting an old friend. I’ve no hesitation in recommending Mike to anyone wanting to be more productive in life, he has a fantastic outlook anyone would benefit from.” – Marc Ashken (Leftroom)

From encouraging you to take those first tentative steps to demystifying how we get inspired.
